Concept Screening

The purpose of Concept Screening is to quickly and inexpensively sift through a large number of new product ideas early in the new product development process to identify the most promising concepts. Concept screenings are conducted via online survey.
A battery of four rating scale questions are used to determine respondents’ degree of interest in each product concept. Interest is measured along four dimensions: desirability (need), believability, exclusivity/uniqueness, and purchase likelihood.

Concept Product Test (CPT)

Quite simply, the purpose of product concept testing is to determine how interested consumers are in a new product idea. This information can be used to evaluate the idea and as a diagnostic tool to help identify what consumers do and do not like about the proposed product so that idea can be revised and enhanced to improve its appeal.

Product Test -both Home Use Test (HUT)

The Home Use Test identifies potential quality or functionality problems.It also confirms purchase interest and that the manufactured product works as it is supposed to when it is used in real-world situations. Home use tests also provide valuable feedback on the instruction book and packaging.

We typically start with an online screening survey to identify qualified candidates for the home-use test. We may conduct the screening study with our proprietary HomeTrend Influentials Panel and/or a larger national sample using a third party consumer panel, depending on the profile of the consumer we want to test with. Each test participant is sent a product sample and is asked to use the product for between one and four weeks, depending on the product category. They are required to complete an online survey when they first receive the product and another online survey after they have used the product at least five times. They may also be asked to keep a photo or video diary throughout the test.

Central Location Testing (CLT)

This methodology involves recruiting respondents at a predetermined venue and having them evaluate products or other presented items.

Packaging Testing

Brand Name Test

The naming process is complete and you have a few clear favourites – but which name is best? With our quality tests, you can be secure in name decision. Using our step-by-step test method we determine the potential of the names, giving you a solid basis from which to make your final naming decision.
How would the target group pronounce the name? What association does the name trigger? Does the name fit with the product or company? Is the desired effect experienced upon hearing the name? Is the name memorable? You will also receive information about the communicative possibilities offered by the name.

Pricing Study

We conduct pricing study to help clients determine the most profitable price for their product or service. Of all of the elements of the marketing mix, pricing is uniquely important. For example, price can: Determine whether a consumer will consider purchasing a product or service. Pricing research often underestimates the impact of price on purchase decisions and satisfaction, in part because consumers evaluate price differently than other aspects of a product or service. We use sophisticated tools and analysis methods to help our clients optimize pricing and determine pricing tactics.
